It is believed that Cashews were original to Brazil, the Portuguese brought the cashew plant in Goa, India. From here it spread to other parts of southeastern Asia and Africa. In fact, India played a pivotal role in the export of roasted cashews globally as they had learnt how to roast them well. Cashews are also used as antivenom for snake bites. Oil from cashewnuts is antifungal and can be used for healing cracked heels. Cashew is used to add flavor to curries and sweets.
